The course rating is 72.5 and it has a slope rating of 126.  The front 9 holes are designed by Donald J. Ross, ASGCA, and opened in 1927.

Donald Ross was a Golf Course Architect who's career lasted from the early 1900's to the late 1940's. No other Golf Course Architect is credited with more fine layouts or is more revered than Donald J. Ross.  More National Championships have been played on courses designed by Donald Ross than any other designer.  Including Pinehurst No. 2.
